YEREVAN. – Along the lines of the Yerevan Summer program, the parents of about 650 Yerevan-resident recruits headed to the border areas of Armenia’s Tavush Region and the southern border areas of the country, to see their sons. 

To note, socially disadvantaged families are included in this program.   

These traditional visits are organized at the initiative of Mayor Taron Margaryan of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, informs the Yerevan Municipality press service.

“Yerevan Municipality has carried out all organizational activities [for the visits]. Representatives from the Road Police and healthcare facilities likewise are engaged in this project.

“The physicians and social workers accompany the parents in each bus. The other working group is already at the military units and ready to meet the arriving,” Margaryan stressed.
