YEREVAN. – Armenian youth will bring more benefit to the people, if they fight against sexual minorities instead of fighting against transportation fare rise, head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Galust Sahakyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I would not call the struggle of transport activists pointless. But this fight is sketchy, not global. There are experience transport experts to resolve the issue of transport. I welcome the global struggle for the future of the nation. And I unambiguously support the groups of youth who are struggling against sexual minorities. Here, young people can make a big contribution,” Sahakyan said.

He added that the society is divided into two camps: some people say the rate should rise, while others claim the contrary.

“Several times municipality announced competition for routes at a rate of 100 drams. Nobody participated. Let activists together take some free route and prove that you can transport people not for 150 drams, but for 60 or 80 drams. No money? You can take a loan. But none of them does anything,” Sahakyan emphasized.
