The International Open Format School and Workshop named “Ararat Memory Meeting” has started in Yerevan on April 5. The issues related to diversity and cross-fertilization among approaches to memory will be addressed at the School and subsequent Workshop, which are organized by Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), with financial support from Volkswagen and European Brain and Behavior Society (EBBS).

About 80 students and scientists from more than 25 countries (including Armenia, Russia, Italy, Georgia, Iran, Turkey, USA, UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Israel, Poland, Japan, China, and others) are participating in the meeting.

The speakers and lecturers – renowned scientists in the field, will present various aspects and methods for investigation of memory mechanisms in human and animals.

“It is symbolic that the meeting with participants from so many countries, including practically all countries from Black Sea region, is held in the shadow of great mount Ararat”, — said in his welcome speech Onur Gunturkun, a Turkish professor from Germany.

The School and the Workshop will last till April 10.
