YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian’s visit to Panama will give new impulse to bilateral cooperation. 

Panama FM Fernando Núñez Fábrega stated the aforementioned at his meeting with his Armenian counterpart, on Wednesday in Panama. 

During their talk, Nalbandian and Fábrega continued their discussions on the development of bilateral relations, informs the Armenian MFA press service.   

Minister Nalbandian said that even though thousands of kilometers separate Armenia and Panama from each other, the two countries share views on numerous international matters.    

They underscored the need for organizing high-level visits, forming a legal and contractual framework, holding consultations between the two MFAs, having a closer cooperation within international organizations, and accrediting concurrent ambassadors in one another’s capital cities. 

The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues. 

On the same day, Edward Nalbandian was hosted at the National Assembly (NA) of Panama, where he met with NA Foreign Affairs Commission president Dalia Bernal. 

Bernal presented to the Armenian FM the Panamanian parliament’s activities toward the development of relations with other countries. In addition, she welcomed Nalbandian’s proposal to form a friendship group with the Armenian National Assembly.  

For his part, Edward Nalbandian briefed his interlocutor on the ongoing efforts by Armenia and the international community toward a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
