YEREVAN. – Changes are expected to be made in March at the Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia.
CC Press Secretary Hovhannes Papikyan confirmed the abovementioned information to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Two of the CC judges will retire, and new judges will be appointed in their stead.
CC Judges Manuk Topuzyan and Valeri Poghosyan will retire on March 5 and 25, respectively.
To note, either the National Assembly or the President of Armenia appoints the CC judges.
Papikyan also considered possible the return of Judge Alvina Gyulumyan, Armenia’s member in the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), to the CC.
“Her return is very likely. She is one of the best judges,” said the Armenian Constitutional Court press secretary.
To remind, however, Judge Gyulumyan’s term at the ECtHR will end in January 2015.
