YEREVAN. – According to media information, the Government of Armenia decided to have 50,000 tons of trout in Lake Sevan in the coming years by using tens of thousands of tons of artificial food for that, Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily reports.
“If this information is true, Lake Sevan fill face a very serious danger.
“Such a program can be implemented, but the problem is that the artificial fish food is chemicals; that is, as a result, [Lake] Sevan’s water will be polluted and Armenia will not only be deprived of the drinking water resources, but it will not be possible to swim in the lake; it simply will be hazardous to health.
“[But] instead, the government will have a normal ‘fish business,’” Chorrord Ishkhanutyun writes.
