April 14, at 7:49 local time a 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit Qinghai Province, north-eastern China killing at least 67 people, Xinhua agency reports. According to China Earthquake Administration (CEA), the earthquake focus was at the depth of 33 kilometers.

U.S. Geological Survey said the death toll is 70 at the moment.

Rescue teams from the central government and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture have been sent to Qinghai Province. Many people are buried under the debris due to building collapse.
