Foreign Ministers Edward Nalbandian and Karen Mirzoyan of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)—or Artsakh—, respectively, met Monday in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
The two FMs discussed the results of the collaboration between the Armenia and the NKR MFAs in 2013, and the respective activities to be carried out in the current year.
Nalbandian and Mirzoyan also reviewed the steps that were taken in the year past to push the Karabakh peace process forward, and they discussed the present-day situation, due to Azerbaijan’s destructive stance, in the negotiation process.
The ministers also reflected on the Azerbaijani military diversion teams’ attempt to infiltrate into Artsakh, in the early morning hours on Monday, and which resulted in the death of Junior Sergeant Armen Hovhannisyan.
Edward Nalbandian and Karen Mirzoyan considered these assaults by the Azerbaijani party to be yet another manifestation of provocative and irresponsible policy, and an attempt to foil the Armenian and the Azerbaijani FMs’ talks slated for this week.
