YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan always seeks to upset the status quo in Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters on Thursday.
Kocharyan commented on the results of the talks, which were held on January 24 in Paris, between the FMs of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and with the participation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
In his words, the Co-Chairs have set before themselves the task of not allowing the escalation of tension between the conflicting parties.
“There is a desire to move Azerbaijan to a constructive domain. But when we hear Azerbaijan’s constant claims on the status quo being unacceptable, it becomes clear that all the steps by official Baku are aimed at upsetting it,” Shavarsh Kocharyan said.
