Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s state visit to the Czech Republic is still in progress.

On Friday morning, the President met with Chairman Jan Hamáček of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, in capital city Prague.

The interlocutors underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the development of Armenian-Czech cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral ties.  They also expressed willingness to develop the collaboration and the interaction.

Sargsyan stressed that the parliamentary contacts between the two countries have invigorated, and said he will be glad to host the Czech parliament’s leadership in Armenia.

Both parties concurred that the mutual visits by the friendship groups of both countries should be encouraged. In this context, Hamáček noted that a large Czech-Armenian friendship group has been formed in the Czech parliament.  

They also reflected on regional matters, the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, Armenia-Turkey relations, and several other matters of mutual interest.

On the same day, President Serzh Sargsyan also paid a visit to the Vítkov National Memorial. The President laid a wreath and paid tribute to the monument of Unknown Soldier.
