ANC activist Vardan Harutyunyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“We were going to hold an awareness campaign about the [public] assembly on March 1, but the police detained us before we could start the action,” Harutyunyan said.
In his words, the activists were kept at the police station for three hours, whereupon they were fined for “improper use of public place.”
“We undertook [the campaign] at night because there are fewer people on the street, and we would not have obstructed traffic at that hour,” Vardan Harutyunyan added.
