YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan chaired the regular consultation meeting on the ongoing activities toward Armenia’s joining the Customs Union (CU), and the Common Economic Space.     

The heads of the respective working groups reported on the course of implementation of the events that are outlined in the CU accession “road map,” informs the Government of Armenia press service.      

In turn, Sargsyan instructed the heads of the working groups to strictly adhere to the outlined timetable for the implementation of the relevant activities.  

Following the talks that were held on September 3, 2013 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union. And the road map for Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union was recently introduced. Aside from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan likewise are members in the Customs Union.
