YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly (NA)-Defense Ministry cooperation is on high grounds today, more than ever.
NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, who arrived in Tavush Region on a working visit, stated the aforesaid Wednesday while visiting a military unit of the region.
Abrahamyan noted that the President, the NA, and the Government of Armenia draw attention to the problems of the border-protecting soldiers of the country and, by way of regular visits, they try to assist in the solution of these problems.
Commenting on the actions by the Azerbaijani authorities, he stressed that the Armenian soldiers give the appropriate response.
“We, unlike the Azerbaijani authorities, urge that we need to resolve the problems as a result of peace talks; but this does not happen unilaterally. The Azerbaijani authorities are not yet manifesting a reasonable policy.
“We want peace. But if a war is imposed upon us, we will give a fitting counterblow, and defend our homeland,” said the parliament leader.
Hovik Abrahamyan also stressed that the Armenian authorities stand with the Armenian army.
