YEREVAN. – With this congress, the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) is entering a new phase, and this is dictated by the demands of the people and the situation in the country.
PAP MP and ex-FM Vartan Oskanian stated the aforementioned at a briefing with news reporters, following the party’s seventh congress on Saturday.
Oskanian stressed that the cooperation between the four non-ruling-coalition parliamentary forces—the Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage—will yield positive results.
He informed that, in his address at the congress, PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan had said: “Let’s wake up, give correct assessment, and try—with united approaches—to bring the country out of this difficult situation!”
As per the PAP MP, the situation is critical: either the country will go on the current road and be destroyed, or we need to wake up.
Vartan Oskanian added that Tsarukyan had clearly indicated that Armenia faces numerous issues, and the PAP will lose its meaning unless it voices them and offers alternative solutions. Therefore, according to the former FM, the Prosperous Armenia Party’s ideology is to offer alternative solutions and to unite the political forces around these solutions.
