YEREVAN. – Benin’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Anicet Gabriel Kotchofa (diplomatic residence in Moscow, Russia), on Tuesday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador Kotchofa on his appointment and wished him success, informs the Press Office of the President. He noted that Armenia attaches importance to political dialogue and contacts with African countries, including Benin.

The interlocutors expressed the hope that the unrealized potential in several domains will be able to be used for the benefit of both countries.

The Armenian President and the Beninese ambassador shared the view that the collaboration within the framework of the African Union, where Armenia has observer status, is yet another important platform to strengthen bilateral ties.

Serzh Sargsyan also underscored the cooperation within international organizations, and expressed the hope that Benin will continue to maintain its balanced approach in vital matters for Armenia.
