YEREVAN. – Starting from 2018, Armenia will have an opportunity of exporting electricity to Russia, Deputy Energy Minister Iosif Isayan said.

Prior to this, noted Isayan, Armenia-Georgia electricity trasmission line will be built under the loan provided by German  KfW. This transmission line will bring energy system of Armenia and Georgia in a parallel mode, and the capacity will increase to  250 million kWh.

When two systems run in parallel, there will have an opportunity to enter the Russian energy system (the Southern Federal District of Russia) that is now working with a deficit,
