YEREVAN. – Armenia, among other CSTO member states, faces a historic choice: either to share the full responsibility with Russia for the invasion of Ukraine, or to secede from the CSTO.

Political scientist, ex-presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan released a statement with such content.

“Russia intervened in the internal affairs of Ukraine without consultations with the states participating in the OSCE; these actions violate the Collective Security Treaty provisions.

“Regardless of what decision will be made [by Armenia], its consequences will be of fundamental importance for the future of our country.

“I am sure that the majority of our people would agree that Armenia shall not take part in a war for the separation of Ukraine.

“The time has come for Armenia to declare its international neutrality.

“The road of independent self-existence of our country is the only way, in which case Armenia’s fate will depend solely on the decisions by our people,” Ghukasyan’s statement also specifically reads.
