YEREVAN. – Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan received Transportation Minister Maksim Sokolov of the Russian Federation (RF). 

Sargsyan and Sokolov are co-chairs of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. 

Sokolov informed that he attended, in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, the official opening of the Armenian-Russian plant that will manufacture disposable medical tools.

“Russia’s direct investments in Armenia total 40 percent of the foreign investments in the republic. Another $50-million investment will be made in the 1,820 joint Armenian-Russian enterprises.

“I am glad that our dialogue develops so dynamically, especially since ahead of Armenia joining the Customs Union and the [Eurasian] Common Economic Space,” the RF transport minister stressed.

Tigran Sargsyan and Maksim Sokolov discussed the implementation of the agreements that were reached during the recent talk between the Armenia and the RF PMs.

Specifically, the interlocutors highly appreciated the holding of the events that are envisioned by Armenia’s Customs Union accession “road map.” 

The parties also reflected on the agreements that were reached in several domains, and they agreed on the further steps for their implementation.
