YEREVAN. –  Ukraine is a peaceful state, and any military actions against Crimea are not planned, Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia said.

Ivan Kukhta noted that Ukraine is ready to sit at negotiating table with Russia and representatives of Crimea. The diplomat recalled that Kyiv is ready to consider broader authority for Crimea.

“I think this is right. The diplomatic efforts have not been exhausted,” he said.

At the same time he stressed that international organizations and leading states said the actions in Crimea are violation of Ukraine's constitution.

“The so-called referendum is being held in violation of Ukraine's Constitution. It is illegitimate. No international organizations have been present,” Kukhta said during a press conference on Thursday.

He said every country has its provisions of holding referendum, and everything must be held in accordance with law.
