YEREVAN. – Whoever is the next prime minister or a member of Cabinet, he must enjoy confidence of the president and political majority in the parliament, spokesperson for ruling Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Asked whether there is likelihood that the candidacy presented by four non-coalition parliamentary factions will be considered, Sharmazanov noted that, according to Constitution, president must discuss candidacy of prime minister not only with the parliamentary majority but with all factions.

“After discussions and consultations with the ruling party, the president will present to the National Assembly candidacy of new premier,” he said.
