YEREVAN. – Armenia's decision to join Customs Union does not mean reducing the role of EU, President Serzh Sargsyan said during Armenia-France business forum.

Armenian leader expressed confidence that GSP agreement on trade preferences is making European market more attractive for Armenian businessmen, as it enables to export a list of goods without customs duties.

This is also beneficial for European investors, who can get to the Eurasian market using the possibilities of Armenia,.

“In terms of the level of economic freedom among CIS states, Armenia's economy is the closest to Europe. This is proved by numerous indexes. For example, the ranking of Doing Business for 2014. Armenia is ranked 37th, and is quite close to France,” Sargsyan added.
