Ankara will ignore  the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) judgment and will not pay the 90 million euros in damages to Cyprus, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.

He said the judgement on compensation for the 1974 invasion of Cyprus was unfair. Besides, Davutoglu noted that the judgement is damaging peace process between the communities.

The Court held that Turkey was to pay Cyprus 30 million euros in respect of the non-pecuniary damage suffered by the relatives of the missing persons, and 60 million euros in respect of the non-pecuniary damage suffered by the enclaved Greek-Cypriot residents of the Karpas peninsul
