YEREVAN. – Information was received, on Sunday 9:56pm, from the National Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.

Accordingly, a 5-magnitude earthquake had occurred, at 9:26pm local time, in Azerbaijan, 15 km southeast of the city of Zaqatala.

The tremor measured magnitude 7 at the epicenter and its hypocenter was 10 km beneath the surface. 

The seismic activity was felt in the northern regions of Armenia and in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, too, with magnitude 2-3.
