YEREVAN. – The Eurasian Economic Commission on Monday sent Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) accession treaty for a domestic national accordance.  

Armenia Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told the aforementioned to reporters on Tuesday, and he added that once the treaty is agreed upon, it will be subsequently signed. 

“No one has said that Armenia will sign the Eurasian Economic Union accession agreement on July 1. The decision, which the EaEU supreme body has made, referred to the treaty’s preparation—by July 1—for signing. From this perspective, what was envisioned is taking place.

“We hope that the domestic national accordance will not last very long. Once it’s over, we can speak about the deadlines,” Kocharyan said. 

As for the view that Belarus and Kazakhstan are against Armenia’s joining EaEU, the deputy FM stressed as follows: 
“If it were so, the agreement would not have been sent yesterday [Monday] because if anyone is against [it], it can create an insurmountable barrier against any matter. And there are hundreds of matters. So, there is no such thing.”
