YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Galust Sahakyan on Wednesday received Ukrainian Ambassador Ivan Kukhta.

Highly assessing the Armenian-Ukrainian friendly relations, the NA leader highlighted the further development and deepening of the interparliamentary relations and the bilateral contacts, the NA press service informed.

Sahakyan stressed the role of the Armenian and Ukrainian communities in the rapprochement of Armenian-Ukrainian relations.

The Armenia parliament leader, however, expressed concern about the tough political situation in Ukraine, but expressed the hope that the existing problems will be solved in a peaceful and comprehensive manner.

Congratulating Galust Sahakyan on being elected the NA Speaker, Ambassador Kukhta, for his part, noted that Ukraine looks toward developing and strengthening relations with Armenia. He underscored the further deepening of interparliamentary relations, and the development of cooperation in a variety of domains.

The interlocutors also discussed several other issues.
