YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday visited the US Embassy in Armenia on the occasion of the American national day, the Independence Day.
In this connection, Sargsyan congratulated US Ambassador John Heffern and, through him, the Embassy staff and the American nation.
In addition, the Armenian President issued a message of congratulations to US President Barack Obama.
“We [as Armenia] deeply appreciate our friendship with the United States and are pleased that we have raised the bilateral partnership to a qualitatively new level.
“We underscore the deepening of Armenian-American cooperation, your assistance to the ongoing reforms and the establishment of democracy in Armenia, and the expansion of the American involvement in Armenia’s economy.
“Stressing the importance of the USA’s continuing engagement—as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country—in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, we expect a continued active brokerage for a stable and lasting peace in South Caucasus,” President Sargsyan’s message specifically runs.
