A 2-day annual DigiTec Business forum organized by the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) has been opened in Yerevan on Wednesday. The goal of the forum is to facilitate a dialogue between businesses and the IT sector and the application of information technologies in other economic sectors and presentation of goods and services for business.

Speaking at the opening, RA Premier Tigran Sargsyan noted that Armenia seeks regional leadership in information and telecommunication.

Armenian and south-east European companies are participating in the forum. Representatives of the foreign companies will make presentations and exchange experience with their Armenian partners.

About 40 local and foreign companies presenting their solutions in financing and banking, tourist industry and commerce, construction, transport and pharmaceutical industry are participating in the forum. DigiTec Business exhibition, E-Fin conference, seminars and roundtable discussions will be held on the sidelines of the forum. The event is sponsored by the Cyberoam Company represented by the Armenian company Apaga Technologies (Future Technologies).

The first DigiTec Business forum was held in 2008 and hosted 1,200 people; in 2009 the number of visitors reached 1,500.
