On June 9, at least 39 people were killed in a blast during a wedding party evening in Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan.
According to a senior official in the Kandahar city administration Mohammad Anaas, the explosion left over 70 wounded, BBC reports.
Last week, 1,600 Afghan tribal leaders convened a "peace jirga” to seek peace with the Taliban.
