YEREVAN. – Armenia plans to install geographic information system (GIS) in Khosrov state reserve, Nature Protection Minister Aramayis Grigoryan told reporters on Monday.

The system will allow to follow the state of reserves online enabling to compare the existing situation with the database.

“Of course, it is quite expensive, but we plan to attract funding from our international partners,” the Minister said.

In addition, the government plans to restructure rent from Arpi Lake, one the reserves in north-western border of Armenia.

“Thirty percent of the rent should come to the villages surrounding the reserve in order to improve their financial situation,” he emphasized.
