make preferableYEREVAN. – The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia will send to the country’s mountain regions the rescue vehicles, which the Civil Protection Without Borders organization of France has donated.
Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan told the aforementioned to reporters during Wednesday’s presentation of these vehicles.
“We are discussing as to specifically which regions we will send them. I believe [we will send them to] the border [regions], where there are numerous forest fires,” Yeritsyan said noting that since these are all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), it will be possible to use them in the winter, too.
“We have supplemented [capital city] Yerevan [with new rescue vehicles], but this does not mean we should forget about the regions,” the minister said.
In turn, Civil Protection Without Borders organization Chairman Bernard Jannin stated that their organization helps Armenia since the early 1990s.
“We still have great plans,” he said noting that their next project is to set up regional volunteer fire and rescue centers.
