YEREVAN. – A total of 40,000 first-graders will go to school in Armenia on September 1.

Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan announced the aforementioned at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, the statistics on the number of children being enrolled in elementary schools is being verified with the regional halls.

“The renovation is completed in several [elementary] schools in the republic, and now they are ready to accept the schoolchildren.

“We held a discussion with the local authorities, to organize the start of the school year in the best way,” Ashotyan added.

Furthermore, as per the minister, the process of placing the schoolchildren in schools has been discussed, too.
