YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Indian Ambassador to Armenia, Suresh Babu.

“Armenia is interested in deepening and expanding friendly relations with India. Our two countries have great potential to further develop and strengthen cooperation,” the PM noted. In this connection, Abrahamyan also underscored the mutual visits by senior officials.

The Armenian premier and the Indian ambassador discussed the avenues for invigorating trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The diplomat informed that several Armenia-based information technology (IT) companies will visit India soon and participate in a major IT exhibition.

At the end of the talk, Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the Indian government for carrying out educational programs in Tavush and in Lori Regions of Armenia.

Subsequently, the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund and the Embassy of India in Yerevan signed a memorandum of understanding on setting up computer classrooms in the elementary schools of Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Region. The memorandum also envisions the establishment of an internal online network in all educational institutions of the region.
