A film on the Armenian Genocide in Turkey was screened Sunday, and within the framework of the 71st Venice Film Festival, Interfax news agency reported.

German-born Turkish director Fatih Akin’s “The Cut,” which was shot with the participation of Russian producers, looks at the consequences of this genocide.

The main hero of the film is the young resident of an Armenian village who had miraculously survived the massacres, and learning that his two sisters are still alive, starts to look for them all around the world.

The movie is the joint work of several countries, including Russia.
