Turkey’s newly elected President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting in capital city Baku, and between the Turkish and Azerbaijani delegations, Erdogan stated that the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement is linked to the resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Haber3 website of Turkey reported.

“If the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is resolved, the matter of normalization of Turkish-Turkish relations will be resolved, too. Otherwise, the problem between Turkey and Armenia will continue in the same way,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted.

In turn, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev thanked Turkey for always protecting the interests of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh issue, and stressed that the Azerbaijani ambassadors throughout the world fight, together with Turkey, against recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
