YEREVAN. – Armenia's participation in NATO summit in Wales at the level of president is closely connected to two issues, Russian political analyst Andranik Migranyan said.

First, it is NATO's withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan where Armenia has peacekeepers, and the second is that the Alliance is the only organization that has voiced anti-Armenian and anti-Karabakh wording on territorial inviolability of Azerbaijan.

Migranyan said Armenia is well aware that anti-Russian wordings may be adopted in Wales.

“However, Armenia has permanently and clearly supported Russia's position in all international agencies. So, in Moscow there is no doubt concerning Armenia's direction,” he said.

Over six years, Armenia has been was struggling to change anti-Karanakh wording of NATO.

“The Armenian side thinks that this year they will succeed, because it seems to me that if the wording was not changed, Armenia would not take part in the summit or would participate at a lower level,” the expert believes.
