Ambassador Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), participated in and addressed at the session of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Executive Council.

In his remarks, Mnatsakanyan underscored the UNDP’s and the other agencies’ contribution to the preparation of the development agenda after 2015, informed the Armenia MFA press service.

Armenia’s permanent representative to the UN also stressed the importance of the current year in terms of the launch of the new UNDP and UNFPA strategic and global programs.

The ambassador also highlighted the UNDP programs being implemented in Armenia, and expressed the hope that this program’s next project in the country will reflect the results of and the recommendations by the UNDP development evaluation report and the national consultations.

In addition, Ambassador Mnatsakanyan welcomed the UNDP administrator’s decision to visit Armenia, and informed about the Armenian government’s readiness to further advance the successful partnership and effective cooperation with this program.

At the meetings parallel to the Executive Council session, the UNFPA highly praised Armenia’s efforts to identify the problems, address them speedily, and find long-term solutions.
