YEREVAN. – As of Friday, September 5, 2014, a total of 15,500 tons of tomatoes were collected in Armenia this year, whereas 7,800 tons were collected in the same period last year.
In addition, a total of 1,630 tons of peaches were exported from the country so far this year, against the 977 tons that were exported during the whole of last year, informed the Ministry of Agriculture Department Public Relations; most of these exports were sent to Russia.
Also as of Friday, September 5, 2014, Armenia exported 1,255 tons of watermelons, and the whole consignment was exported to Georgia. In 2013, however, no watermelon was exported from Armenia.
