French President François Hollande will set up a meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, on around October 10 in Paris.
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Vice-President René Rouquet, who is also deputy chairman of the French-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Senate of France, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Rouquet added that France is putting greater pressure on Azerbaijan, and stressed that after the Sochi meeting, the tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Line of Contact has eased.
“It is very important that at the Sochi meeting the parties spoke, conversed, and chose understanding,” René Rouquet also noted.
On August 10, the Armenian, Russian, and Azerbaijani presidents—Serzh Sargsyan, Vladimir Putin, and Ilham Aliyev—held a trilateral talk in Sochi, Russia. They discussed the avenues for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and it was stressed that there is no alternative to a peaceful resolution of this conflict.
