YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Mohammad Nour Othman Yousef Balkar.
Margaryan briefed the Jordanian diplomat on the system of governance and priorities of Yerevan.
“In the effective management of the [Armenian] capital city, we also underscore the exchange of international knowhow. Yerevan expands its scope of cooperation, and I expect that we will establish partnership ties also between Yerevan and [Jordanian capital city] Amman,” the Yerevan mayor stressed, in particular.
He added that there are vast opportunities and prospects for collaboration between the two capital cities.
In turn, Ambassador Balkar stated that he will do everything possible to establish partnership relations between Yerevan and Amman.
“Also considering the similarities between the two capitals cities on many issues, I express my readiness to take practical steps to sign a sister cities’ agreement between Amman and Yerevan, in the shortest period of time,” the Jordanian diplomat specifically noted.
The mayor of Yerevan, for his part, also drew attention to the implementation of investment projects with sister and partner cities.
