YEREVAN. – Armenian prayers could be heard in Kars region of Turkey on September 6.
Armenians and foreign tourists heading to a liturgy in Surb Khach church on Akhtamar Island spent the first day in Ani, medieval Armenian city situated in the Turkish province of Kars.
The group headed by Rev. Gevorg prayed for the victims of the Armenian Genocide and Armenians killed during the years of war, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reported.
The group also performed Armenian dance kochari.
