YEREVAN. – The IT sector can either win or lose from Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises Karen Vardanyan said.
According to him, there are no corresponding political and economic institutions that would adequately analyze the problem. The United States will experience a serious lack of about one million IT experts till 2023.
“Approximately the same situation will be observed in Russia until 2030. Nowadays they feel the lack of IT experts all over the world. If we have proper skills and enterprises, we will be able to improve our education system both at school and at the university so that to train professionals who will work with different markets. In this case we will be able to secure ourselves against all types of fluctuations,” Varadanyan said during a press conference on Saturday.
Vardanyan said he is supportive of a sovereign state, but “95% of society, unfortunately, treat the country as a football fan speaking for the European or Russian orientation”.
“However, there is also Armenian orientation, which is the strongest and with the help of which you can help a country to its feet.”
