YEREVAN. – Following Ukraine's ratification of the Association Agreement with EU and Armenia's joining Eurasian Union, there will be some points to be agreed by Yerevan and Kyiv, Ukrainian Ambassador told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

However, Ivan Kukhta believes it is a solvable problem, as Ukraine respects Armenia's choice.

“Each sovereign state has a right to sign any agreement, and join any economic or political unions. As to relationship between Ukraine and Armenia, after joining the Eurasian Union and ratification of Association Agreement, we will develop our ties in all practical levels,” he noted.

Armenia and Ukraine attach particular importance to economic cooperation, Ambassador said and told about his latest meeting with Armenian Economy Minister.

“We reiterated and emphasized the fact that our economic relations are at a sufficiently high level, and after the accession to the Eurasian Union, we willbe definitely interested in further expansion of these relations. Both Ukraine and Armenia are parties to a free trade zone within the CIS, we have bilateral regulatory documents, which are also regulating а free trade zone between the two countries,” Kukhta said.

And finally, it is planned to hold a meeting of the Armenian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission in Yerevan to clarify all the issues and to enable further development of economic cooperation.

Armenia's accession to Eurasian Uconomic Union is planned for October 9 during the Union's summit in Minsk.
