Armenia ranks 101 in the ‘The Failed States Index 2010’ annual rating issued by Foreign Policy magazine.
Somalia tops the rating for the third time. The top 10 of failed states also includes Congo, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc.
Azerbaijan takes 55th place and Georgia- 37th. Turkey ranks 89th, whereas Russia – 80th.
According to the rating, Finland, Sweden and Norway are among the most stable states.
The countries are ranked based on the following factors: demographic pressures, refuges, human flight, group grievance, uneven development, economic decline, delegitimization of the state, public services, security apparatus, factionalized elites and external intervention.
