A plaque and a bench commemorating the “Khojaly tragedy” are placed in a park of Calgary, Canada.
The tree with the plaque was planted and the bench was installed by way of the improvement program of the city, and for a respective fee. The tree with the plaque costs $500 and the bench, $3,500.
The Calgary municipal authorities, however, did not permit the installation of the full Azerbaijani version of the bench’s inscription, which included accusations against Armenians. The sign simply says: “Khojaly Tragedy.”
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Azerbaijan embassy in Canada attempted to organize a large gathering at the University of Calgary, but solely about fifteen people attended this event.
