Baku will give up warlike rhetoric only after Armenians so occupying Azerbaijan’s lands, Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov said at a June 23 joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart.

According to Mammadyarov, Armenians must withdraw troops from Azerbaijani territories, Trend reported.

In Saint Petersburg the Armenian side did not say either “yes” or “no” to the updated Madrid Principles, which creates major difficulties for progress in peace talks on the resolution of the Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov said.

On the one hand Armenia expresses readiness for further work on the Madrid Principles, on the other hand it disagrees with certain points of the updated document. Armenia calls the Karabakh conflict frozen, but Azerbaijan disagrees with such wording as long as incidents causing deaths occur in the contact line.
