YEREVAN. – Deputy Prime Minister and Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan on Tuesday had a farewell meeting with Chinese Ambassador Tian Changchun, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
The deputy PM wished the ambassador future success, and thanked for his activities toward the deepening of relations between the two countries and the invigoration of contacts between the two friendly peoples.
Gevorgyan also expressed satisfaction with the activities that were carried out toward the establishment of decentralized cooperation.
The interlocutors added that there is a huge unrealized potential.
“Armenia-China relations have become more practical in recent years, [and] specific programs are implemented, which yield concrete results, too,” the deputy PM noted.
In turn, the Chinese ambassador likewise stated that there are warm friendly relations between the two nations and these relations are an important basis for the development of relations. The diplomat also thanked the Armenian government for productive cooperation and its assistance in the implementation of joint projects.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the avenues for the development of bilateral relations.
In addition, Armen Gevorgyan awarded Ambassador Tian Changchun with the medal of the Ministry of Territorial Administration of Armenia, and in recognition of his personal contribution to the deepening of Armenian-Chinese bilateral relations.
