YEREVAN. – Hours before Friday’s rally by the three non-government parliamentary forces (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia (PAP), and Heritage), people coming from the regions are not allowed to enter capital city Yerevan.
PAP Spokesperson and National Assembly Faction member Tigran Urikhanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they already have received respective reports.
“People are not permitted to come to Yerevan with private cars; this refers to those working in Yerevan. We asked to provide us with information about this incident.
“I’m convinced that we will come across such cases throughout the day. Our itinerant groups are going round the roads,” Urikhanyan stated, in particular.
In his words, the prohibition by the police to set up a stage at Downtown Yerevan’s Liberty Square, where the rally will be held, says it all.
“[But] anyone who wants is coming; the people’s patience has run out. There is no issue of bringing people [to the rally]; there is an issue of leaving them uninhibited and alone,” the PAP MP added.
Friday’s rally of the “parliamentary trio” will kick off at Liberty Square at 6pm, and the leaders of the three forces are expected to be on hand at the event.
