YEREVAN. – Ambassador Tatoul Markarian, who is Head of Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union (EU), on Thursday presented his credentials to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso.

At the ensuing private talk, Markarian and Barroso reflected on Armenia-EU relations, the prospects for their development, and several matters of mutual interest, the Armenia MFA press service.

The European Commission chief expressed the hope that Ambassador Markarian will make best use of his rich work experience toward the expansion and deepening of Armenia-EU relations.  

At the request of José Manuel Barroso, Tatoul Markarian spoke about the latest developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the present-day situation in Armenian-Turkish relations and the region.
