Armenian National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, who is in Geneva, Switzerland, on a working visit, on Tuesday met with Estonian Riigikogu (Parliament) member Tõnis Kõiv, who also heads the Riigikogu delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The meeting was held within the framework of the 131st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.

The interlocutors underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy and the need for mutual visits, to advance political discourse between the two countries.

Sharmazanov, who is also head of the NA Armenia-Estonia Friendship Group, noted that Armenia stands ready for political dialogue with the European partners, and the continuity of reforms toward strengthening democracy and human rights in the country.
