YEREVAN. – Until Russia settles relations with Georgia, the problem of Abkhaz railway will remain unresolved, former MP Hovhannes Igityan said.

Igityan, former head of parliament's standing committee on foreign affairs, is convinced no one will do anything just for the sake of Armenia's prosperity.

The Eurasian integration is a political process, and some statements in connection with the railway are voiced by Russian experts who are unaware of Armenia's economy and the existing situation.

“I do not understand how Abkhazian railway may be opened without Georgia. And the latter will not make any moves in this direction. It is a complicated issue, given Georgia's geopolitical choice,” he told reporters on Friday.
